Exciting verdant hues occupy Brian Yatsattie's rich variscite Bear. A mineral in the turquoise family, variscite is said to energize the brain because of the incredible color it emits. Pueblo cultures consider bears as powerful members of the family. Indigenous teachings about kinship with the natural world reveals that we miss out on a lot of positive interactions when we adopt antagonistic attitudes toward wildlife. Brian is a wonderful and prolific carver, his works are quite collectible. Measurements of this divine fetish are about 2" long, 3/8" wide and 1 1/4" tall. Inspecting eyes are from jet inlays.
