Zuni Pueblo jeweler Quintin Quam's mastery in both lapidary and silversmithing skills results in a beautiful overlay inlay presentation of a phenomenal Eastern Bluebird pendant. The top piece of sterling silver was laboriously sawed out to leave a negative space of design. Another piece of silver is annealed to it. Colorful lapis lazuli, spiny oyster shell, shell, mother-of-pearl, turquoise, malachite, pen shell and jet were then meticulously inlaid bringing to life a sweet feathered friend out in nature. Measurements including the sterling silver bale are approximately 3 1/2" long and 1 1/2" wide. Signed by the artist.
Our Keshi gallery will be hosting Quintin Quam for an Artist Reception during Market weekend in Santa Fe, NM on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10 am to 5 pm.
