Dragonfly (Shumak'olo:wa) is a skilled aerial insect that emerges from the water and lights on the earth. This ability to be part of three different elements give dragonfly a special medicine or meaning in the Zuni way. Peter Sohappy's tribute to this amazing creature of water, earth, and air is shown in warm, speckled granite with a soft leather thong attached. The dragonfly itself is about 4 1/2", 2 1/4" wide, and 5/8" deep, leather thong is 13" long.
