A Zuni Maiden has befriended an Eagle who willingly comes to visit. This amazing bird's powerful lofty position is honored in traditional ways so she understands the natural behaviors and magnificent qualities associated with it. A wild bird trainer is called a falconer who works with falcons, while an austringer handles Hawks, buzzards and eagles.

Ray Tsalate's museum-quality masterpiece has been carved from antler and turquoise. Enjoy this unique creation's thoughtful details such as intricately etched hair adorned with a small gold lip shell feather, a cape that's cleanly incised and filled with lovely pipestone paste, a red coral inlaid necklace, and moccasins or boots set with turquoise accents. Burnished features on the hair ties and the shoe's soles are beautifully applied. Confident eyes are from inlaid pen shell, while the happy feathered friend has red coral eyes.

Measurements are approximately 4" tall, 2 3/8" wide and 1 3/8" deep. This incredible and collectible "Eagle Maiden" will be featured in an upcoming advertisement for Keshi in New Mexico Magazine, September 2023.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this eagle fetish will go to the Zuni Eagle Sanctuary. Please see our resources page for more information on the sanctuary.
