Animal: Bear, Material: Sandstone
This offering is sold.
An ancient carved spiral located at Chaco Canyon National Park in New Mexico is known as the Sun Dagger because of the way sunlight forms an image of a dagger going through the middle of the spiral during the summer solstice. Daryl Shack Sr.'s textural sandstone Bear has been incised with radiating spiral elements with intersecting daggers, among other cool designs appearing on either side of the carving. Dimensions of this cultured opal-eyed bear are approximately 3 1/8" long, 1 5/8" wide and 2 3/8" tall.
