Dancing In The Dark

We love cats, perhaps because of (or maybe in-spite of) their independent nature and curious disposition. Shannon Waatsa's newest carving titled "Dancing Cat" might just shed some light on they mystery of what cats do at night when alone. Carved from a fantastic Picasso marble, starting off in a soft gray that deepens to a dark black with a web of patterned lines. The inclusion pattern make it look as if the dancing cat has gotten itself tangled in some string. Shannon must have spent a good deal of time polishing the carving to achieve the silky finish that gives the feline a high glassy shine. Eye of inlaid jet inside turquoise give this carving extra energy which measures about 2 3/4" tall, 3/4" wide by 1 3/4" deep.
