Bryston Bowannie's Eagle is carved from a speckled cowry shell with turquoise inlaid eyes. He utilized the stunning shell's organic curvature to represent the raptor's incised wings and talons. Approximately 1 5/8" long, 1 5/8" wide and 3/4" tall. Bryston comes from the greater Natewa, Dallas Quam (d) and Panteah extended families of noted Zuni Pueblo artists. His brother is carver Calvert Bowannie.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this eagle fetish will go to the Zuni Eagle Sanctuary. Please see our resources page for more information on the sanctuary.
