Animal: Wolverine, Material: Egyptian Marble

Wolverines are ferocious creatures, and the second largest species in the weasel family. Loss of habitat due to climate change, deforestation, mining and hunting are the main reasons it is a threatened species. Rickson Kallestewa's remembrance of this to-be-respected mammal is presented in a rich Egyptian marble. Rickson's usual stone of choice is alabaster which makes this carving even more special. A natural band of gold colored inclusion encircles the muzzle. Jet inlaid eyes and drilled nostrils are additional features of this fabulous work, which measures about 2 1/4" long, 1" wide by 1 1/4" tall.
