Evalena Boone's brother is carver Leland Boone and their mother is Lena Boone. They are part of the greater Teddy Weahkee (d) family of distinguished Zuni Pueblo artists. We're honored to share Evalena's approximate 3 1/4" long, 1" wide and 1 1/8" tall red coral-eyed Bear
(or polar bear) elegantly carved from a glistening white marble. A stunning and continuous heartline is inlaid from both green and blue turquoises. The heartline represents the breath path starting at the mouth area leading to the heart. White bears are regarded as special because they're associated with healing in Zuni traditional ways.
