Daphne and Leland Boone have been carving for decades having been groomed by important artists in their family. Leland's late grandmother Edna Leki taught him to carve. She was of Zuni and Cheyenne-Arapaho ancestry descending from the late great artist Teddy Weahkee. Leland's late mother Lena Boone continued mentoring and instilling in him the art and business, bringing him to art markets and gallery shows. Daphne is a wonderful self-taught carver who began when she was in high school. We're enchanted by a gorgeous dolomite Horse collaboratively created by Daphne and Leland. Cheerful eyes are from turquoise inlays. About 3 1/2" long, 5/8" wide and 1 1/2" tall.
