Ancient camel tracks exist in an area west of Santa Fe where amazing quadrupeds once roamed. Fossilized footprints have been found throughout the state of New Mexico. Camel fossils were found during the construction of an irrigation dam on the Zuni River. Gilbert Lonjose's delightful dromedary has been carved from fish rock serpentine. Eyes are inlaid with turquoise. About 2 1/2" long, 3/4" wide and 1 3/4" tall.
