Bivalve Mollusk Medicine Bear

By Stewart Quandelacy & Priscilla Lasiloo

Animal: Bear, Material: Spiny Oyster Shell
This offering is sold.

Spiny oysters are bivalve mollusks whose natural vibrant orange, rich red, soothing purple and rare yellow colors vary from place to place based on what the mollusks eat and the depth of oceans where they live. Stewart Quandelacy and Priscilla Lasiloo Quandelacy carved a rounded-back Bear or Medicine-bear from a gorgeous orange spiny oyster shell with organic curvature and texture. An alternating heartline or breath path is from turquoise inlay, as well as the gentle eyes. About 2" long, 3/8" wide and 1 5/8" tall.
