By Melvin Sandoval, San Felipe-Zuni

Animal: Bear, Material: #8 Mine Turquoise
This offering is sold.
#8 Mine turquoise was first quarried in 1929 in Eureka County, Nevada. It has given some of the largest nuggets of turquoise ever found. It's surely made for a handsome Bear with lovely spirit by Melvin Sandoval, an incomparable fetish carver. A whirlpool of gorgeous green and golden matrix marry beautifully in this specimen. A blue turquoise, shell and perhaps sugilite bead offering compliments this creature in an appealing manner. About 2 3/4" long, 3/4" wide and 2" tall.
