Rodney Laiwakete

Rodney was one of six brothers, five of whom, Bernard, the late Tony, Fernando, and Donovan, became carvers. The craft continues through Bernard’s son Kenric and grandson Verrick, who at twelve years old is currently starting his carving journey. Although Rodney’s sixth brother, Gabriel, did not become a carver, his late son Carleton also carried the tradition forward.
