The sandhill crane is among the oldest species of bird with fossils dating back at least two million years. Harsh squawks come from greater sandhill cranes, a bird found in places like New Mexico's Rio Grande valley. Bryston Bowannie's turquoise crane stretches etched wings and beak skywards to an overall dimension of approximately 3/4" long, 1" wide and 1 3/8" tall. Sweet eyes are from jet inlays.
