Living in the general Great Basin region of the West, the charismatic piñon jaybird species is vital to piñon tree propagation feeding on their seeds. These dusty blue-hued songbirds are endangered in New Mexico, their numbers declining by about 80 percent over the last 50 years. They need us to speak up for them to enact protection from the Endangered Species Act to avoid extinction. Lively corvids, they walk around in a sweet strut and beautify landscapes with their spirit and color. Evalena Boone's magical labradorite piñon jaybird has coral inlaid eyes. About 2 3/4" tall, 3/4" wide and 1 3/8" long.
