Reptiles like turtles are deeply rooted in the traditions of the earth. The way they live teaches us to slow down spending time outdoors healing and reconnecting with nature. Wave dolomite is a gorgeous variety of dolomite with wavelike banding as seen in Andrew Quam's determined Turtle. It is named for the French mineralogist, Deodat de Dolomieu. A nice design occupies the carapace that's accented with colorful turquoise inlays. Eyes are from turquoise as well, while claws are etched and filled with jet paste. About 2" long, 1 1/2" wide and 5/8" tall.
