Pueblo storytellers are clay figurines usually of an elder such as a Mother or Grandmother surrounded by children. They represent a sharing of important knowledge, songs and stories of traditional ways. Annette Romero's wonderful storyteller pottery is skillfully hand-built from natural clay and painted with rich pigments including a green one that's particularly eye-catching. Many young ones have gathered around to listen as the storyteller speaks. She wears traditional clothing including a cape and a lovely necklace. The kids hold cherished things like little drums and a ball. About 8" tall, 4 3/8" wide and 4 3/4" deep. Signed by the artist.
