Owl's Springtime Chorus

By Bryston Bowannie

Animal: Owl, Material: Magnesite
This offering is sold.
The early spring season's late nights are a chorus of an Owl's hoots and calls, probably meaning mating rituals are underway. The Zuni Pueblo people refer to an owl as the Night Grandfather perhaps because like a wise elder an owl uses knowledge and good judgment, seeing what others cannot. Bryston Bowannie's magnificent magnesite raptor is coming in for a landing after scoping out the darkness through turquoise inlaid eyes. Plumage is beautifully etched. About 2 1/2" tall, 2" wide and 1" deep.
