It's carved from iridescent abalone and inlaid with a pen shell eye. The smoothly sculpted bird (or perhaps even a Hawk) is from one piece of rhyolite rippling with light raspberry hues. Rhyolite is a fine-grained igneous rock rich in silica. We love the feathered friend's attentively turned head with pen shell inlaid eyes. Plumage is lightly etched. About 3 3/4" tall, 2 5/8" wide and 1 3/8" deep. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this eagle fetish will go to the Zuni Eagle Sanctuary.
