Nestled below the surface of the earth, David Chavez, Jr.'s
Mole burrows and excavates. Excess soil is pushed to the surface forming molehills. For the Zuni Pueblo people a mole is the Guardian of Mother Earth, a protective and hunting animal of the underground. Smoothly sculpted from yummy watermelon serpentine, tiny drilled eyes and ear holes are features of this approximately 1 1/8" long, 1" wide and 1/2" tall subterranean creature with a fabulous nose.
