Daphne and Leland Boone collaborate in the creation of collectible animal carvings. Leland started in his early teens, buffing arrowheads for his mother Lena Boone. His very first carving was a Bear. Daphne began in her late teens, a self-taught artist whose first creations were Turtles. They said a favorite part of the process is working with new materials they can't wait to carve. They're inspired by the colors as well. A latest offering is a howling Coyote (Fox or Wolf) from dolomite who participates in the canyon's chorus. Tender gazes come from turquoise inlays and an offering bundle is from a mother-of-pearl point with turquoise beads thanking wild canines for their wisdom. About 2 5/8" long, 1" wide and 2 1/4" tall.
