Perhaps because Ravens are scavengers, in times past many people associated these marvelous birds with the macabre and death. Amazing corvids, they play a prominent role in the mythologies of Indigenous Peoples including those of the Pacific Northwest Coast. They are appreciated for their intelligence and housekeeping ways, ridding the environment of carcasses and keeping small rodent populations in check. Their lustrous feathers are beautiful to look at too. Mike Tucson's carved jet necklace and earrings set honors ravens in a stunning way. The necklace laced with pen shell and turquoise beads is about 29" long. The center raven on the necklace is perched at approximately 1 1/8" long with naja bale and 2 1/4" wide. The other lively ravens are roughly 1 1/2" to 2" long. Smart eyes are from turquoise inlays and plumage is nicely etched on each bird. The complimenting earrings dangle at about 2 1/4" long with hooks and 1 3/8" wide.
