Stamina and a steady pace allow impressive elk herds to conserve energy, outdistancing any stalking prey. The arrival of autumn brings mating season to the elk. Standing in power, a bull elk emits loud whistling noises to attract a mate, challenging other males in the process. They display a warrior disposition, both unyielding and resolute. When mating season is over, elk generally congregate in same-sex groups, yet remain united with other members of the herd. An elk’s model of living teaches us to courageously live true to what we believe is important, and to value brotherhood and sisterhood. Salvador Romero's stately Elk is wonderfully carved from found stone and measures about 4 3/4" long, 5/8" wide and 3 1/4" tall.
