Turtle mom and hatchling are as sweet as can be. The mother turtle is carved from jet with an etched carapace inlaid with turquoise. Baby who is carved from Picasso marble has a fancy mosaic shell from jet, orange spiny oyster shell, turquoise and mother-of-pearl. Eyes from inlaid turquoise express happiness for a long life together. About 2 3/4" long, 2" wide and 1" tall, by Stevan Natachu. He descends from the greater Leonard Halate (d) family of Zuni Pueblo artists. Stevan's brother is carver Peter Natachu Jr., while his uncle is well-known carver Herbert Halate.
