Fat Bear Week is held in October at Alaska's Katmai National Park Reserve. The resilience and adaptability of Katmai’s strong brown bears is celebrated where virtual visitors are educated on the individual histories and lives of specific bears. We think Cheryl Beyuka's chunky Bear was the winner of the "fat bear" contest this year. Happy eyes are from coral inlays, while an offering bundle is jam-packed with an assortment of scrumptious beads like turquoise, lapis and garnet. Dimensions of this robust friend from turquoise chrysocolla are about 2 1/2" long, 1 7/8" wide and 1 1/2" tall.
