We're always excited when Jovanna Poblano brings us new fetishes. She's a wonderful artist who is part of the greater Teddy Weahkee (d) family of carvers. Jovanna's grandfather was the iconic Zuni carver Leo Poblano (d).
Happily perched on a base of watermelon serpentine with crushed turquoise, a Zuni bird with turquoise eyes is carved from mother-of-pearl that's inlaid with turquoise, red coral and lapis pieces. A sensational offering bundle consists of yummy black coral, abalone, shell, red coral, turquoise, quartz and lapis beads. Including base, this feathered friend measures about 4 1/4" long, 1 7/8" wide and 1 7/8" tall.
