Bison are revered by Native cultures for giving every part of themselves to sustain the lives of others. Regarded as relatives, tribute is given to buffalo through songs, dance and prayers. Freddie Leekya's Bison carvings are some of the sweetest around. His latest offering is a Picasso marble buffalo with pen shell horns, turquoise eyes and little hooves. The mouth region is overlaid with pen shell too. A sgraffito-etched shoulder and hump create nice fur effect. A long tail swats at pests. About 3" long, 1" wide and 1 3/4" tall.
