Rich Nutria is a beautiful found stone from the Nutria area of the Zuni Pueblo reservation. It can be either travertine, agate, limestone or jasper. Bryston Bowannie's gentle hippopotamus is smoothly sculpted from Nutria stone with engaging inclusions. Semi-aquatic creatures, hippopotamuses live in water for protection and to regulate body temperature but feed on land at night. Sweet eyes are from turquoise inlays. About 3" long, 1 1/4" wide and 1 1/2" tall.
