As the mineral labradorite is moved to and fro in the light, flashes of blue, green, yellow, orange and even purple hues dance. This is a result of a complex interaction of light reflection, diffraction and interference known as labradorescence. Dee Edaakie's powerful Corn-Maiden is sculpted from a labradorite with stunning blue fire. An overlaid face is from turquoise, lapis lazuli, onyx and red coral. The lapis and blue fire in the labradorite go hand in hand. An inlaid necklace is from coral and turquoise. About 1 7/8" tall, 3/4" wide and 1 5/8" deep.
