Scouting for amazing local minerals, artist Felino Eriacho and his good friend fellow carver Fred Bowannie Jr., hike around Zuni land. A stunning portion of septarian from the Fence Lake area near Zuni is transformed into a wonderful Turtle with sweet pen shell eyes to a height of roughly 2 1/4" tall, 1" wide and 1 1/4" deep. An overlaid carapace is created from plump Zuni azurite cabochons that are nice and round like freshly baked bread rolls. The natural crystalline areas feel really good to touch too.
