Corn-Maiden and Grandmother carvings by Sandra Quandelacy are often reversible as seen in a convex red abalone shell presentation. The shell's natural iridescence and organic features such as the wrap-around effect of Corn Maiden's shawl are gorgeous. Facial features are etched and filled with jet paste, as are the star and Dragonfly elements. Crushed turquoise which can represent water is seen at the base. A miniature Picasso marble pot is resting at Grandmother's feet, filled with tiny bits of turquoise, coral and lapis perhaps to represent multi-colored cornmeal. About 4 1/2" tall, 1 1/2" wide and 1 3/8" tall. The measurements include the lovely base from dolomite.
