The arid Gila National Forest in Silver City, New Mexico is home to Dragonfly Trail, an enchanted place among the piñon-juniper grasslands where ancient Indigenous rock symbols like Dragonflies can be seen. Brian Yatsattie's dancing dragonfly has been carved from a naturally curvaceous and iridescent abalone. Zunis believe dragonflies carry prayers. Vibrant apple coral inlays adorn the tail tips on either side of this approximately 3" long, 2 1/4 wide and 3/4" tall wondrous water creature.
