Macaw Overlay Inlay Pendant

Magnificent macaws are Mother Earth's living rainbows. Their brilliant plumage ranges from fiery reds to vibrants blues and sunny yellows, making them one of the most stunning feathered friends in the animal kingdom. Derrick and Nichelle Edaakie's wonderful macaw pendant is created in the challenging overlay inlay jewelry technique. This is where a top piece of sterling silver was laboriously sawed out to leave a negative space of design. Another piece of silver was annealed to it. Stones and shells were then meticulously inlaid bringing the artful scene to life framed by a stunning sky blue turquoise border. Other colorful materials include lapis lazuli, iridescent gold lip shell, mother-of-pearl, pen shell and dazzling abalone. Including the bale, dimensions are about 1 7/8" long and 1 1/8" wide.
