Cerrillos turquoise is one of the rarest turquoises in the world found exclusively in a mining area south of Santa Fe, N.M. Archeologists believe most of the turquoise found at ancient Chaco Canyon, located about 180 miles northwest of Santa Fe, came from the Cerrillos hills. Zuni Pueblo carver Burt Awelagte's bushytail (

Coyote) sprints to close the gap with prey. Focused and friendly eyes are from coral inlays. An offering bundle hosts warm amber, turquoise and heishe beads. About 4" long, 1" wide and 2 1/8" tall.
