Pansy Natachu's father was noted Zuni Pueblo carver Leonard Halate (d) who started producing fetishes in the 1940's. Her siblings include artists Herbert Halate, Reva Halate and Marvelita Phillips. Pansy's lively bushytail (Coyote, Fox or Wolf) with eyes from turquoise inlays is carved from fiery labradorite with an overlaid mosaic tail from turquoise, jet, spiny oyster shell and mother-of-pearl. About 2 1/2" long, 1" wide and 1/2" tall.
