For the A:Shiwi (Zuni), Frogs and Dragonflies are representations of water often appearing on pottery prayer bowls. The water creatures are associated with blessings, fertility and cleansing. In Daisy Rose Leonard's carved duo from magnesite and iridescent mother-of-pearl, she has combined the watery energy into one. Eyes are from sterling silver inlays, a signature feature of her wonderful carvings. An offering bundle has red jasper and shell beads. About 2 3/8" long, 1" wide and 7/8" tall.
