By Claudine Haloo

This offering is sold.

Channel inlay work involves a compartmentalized style of silver work whose interstices are set with turquoise, shell or other materials. They are usually hand-cut to fit the spaces exactly, permanently adhered and polished flat. Channel inlay is said to have originated around the 1940's by Zuni jewelers who cut and set the stones into the silver framework sometimes done by the Diné, in a collaborative effort. Claudine Haloo's gorgeous sterling silver and turquoise channel inlay hoop earrings measure approximately 1 3/4" long and 1/4" wide. Beautifully handmade, they are of a lightweight in wearability.
