Part of the fun in collecting Zuni animal carvings is the stones that connect us with nature. Sherdine Tsatte opted for refreshing calcite to carve a sunny Bear that strolls through its forest home. Calcite is said to increase energy and invigorate the body. Sweet eyes are from tiny turquoise inlays, while an offering bundle representing gratitude consists of a fine Picasso marble point with a verdant bead perhaps malachite, and red coral. About 2 1/2" long, 1" wide and 1 3/4" tall.
