Often mating for life, stunning red-tailed Hawks engage in amazing aerial courtship rituals. They will soar while flying in a large circle. The male will nosedive then rise back. The birds then grab each other by the talons and spiral down toward the ground. Master carver Peter Sohappy's gliding red-tailed hawk has been hewn from found stone to a size of approximately 6" long, 3 1/2" wide and 1/2" deep. Eyes are etched. Either side is decorated with minimalistic plumage details. A soft sueded leather cord that's about 12" long accompanies the slightly convex raptor.
