Jonas Hustito's peaceful herbivore emerges from a deep lake where abundant aquatic plants were on the menu. Moose are gifted swimmers able to journey long distances in water. Sculpted from Picasso marble and blessed with iridescent gold lip mother-of-pearl shell palm-shaped antlers, this slow-moving browser is about 3 1/2" long, 7/8" wide and 2 3/4" tall. The blues of the vast sky are seen in the turquoise eyes. The artist's initials are incised on the hip region.
