Animal: Owl, Material: Found Stone
This offering is sold.

This Owl speaks of the table top mountains of New Mexico. Carved, by Wilson Romero, from stone found while exploring the landscape around his Cochiti Pueblo home. The tan stone with golden and red ocher stains mirror the same colors in the mesa developed over time with the help of the desert climate. We can imagine this great watchman perched in a gnarled juniper on top of this mesa over looking the village and fields below. This stone guardian measures about 5" tall, 2 5/8" wide by 1 3/4" deep.
