The lighthearted snowman is a popular seasonal figure during wintertime. Ancient writings from 7th-century China revealed followers of Buddha built snow statues for worship. Bryston Bowannie's whimsical snowman with sweet eyes from pen shell inlays has been carved from marble and embellished with wonderful additions such as a top hat from jet with perhaps a shell inlay and a tiny gold lip shell bow, waving arms from perhaps Nutria rock or Zuni septarian nodule, jet buttons and a handsome gold lip shell bow tie. An adorable spiny oyster shell carrot nose completes this cheerful and approximate 3 1/2" tall, 2 7/8" wide and 2 1/8" deep friend, measurements include the snowflake-etched marble base.
