Jeffrey Yunie is from the greater Quandelacy family of noted Zuni Pueblo artists. His brother is carver Brian Yunie. Their mother was artist Albenita Yunie and their grandmother was the great Ellen Quandelacy. Ellen learned the art of animal carving from her father Johnny Quam. Ellen along with her husband Dixie Quandelacy taught nine of their children carving and jewelry making. No doubt she'd be proud of her grandson Jeffrey. His latest offering is an affordable tiny fossil stone Bear cub permanently presented on a base from fish rock serpentine. Endearing eyes are from apple coral inlays. Dimensions all together are about 1 1/4" long, 3/4" wide and 3/4" tall.
