Blue Eyed Mountain Lion

By Jeffrey Yunie

Animal: Mountain Lion, Material: Serpentine
This offering is sold.
Jeffrey Yunie is from the greater Quandelacy family of famous Zuni Pueblo artists. His brother is carver Brian Yunie and their mother was Albenita Yunie (d). Grandmother Ellen Quandelacy (d) learned the art of fetish carving from her father Johnny Quam (d), passing down traditional carving experience to her children. Jeffrey's distinguished Mountain-lion's (cougar, puma or panther) playful spirit is contagious through lapis inlaid eyes. Carved from a pleasing serpentine, measurements are about 2 1/2" long, 3/4" wide and 1 1/8" tall. A truly lovely offering bundle is composed from a carved iridescent abalone point with slivers of colorful jet, malachite and pink mussel shell. Don't miss this wonderful, collectible and affordable fetish that has so much going for it.
