Kateri Quandelacy Sanchez is from the widely respected Quandelacy family of Zuni Pueblo. She began carving at 10 years old rooted in the wisdom of her aunt, the late Faye Quandelacy. Kateri’s late mother Georgia Quandelacy was one of eleven children, nine of whom also became carvers. Kateri learned the art using hand tools and has since developed a signature style.
