This offering is sold.
We're happy to welcome Jaylene Bellson to Keshi's website. A dainty pair of sterling silver and turquoise dangle earrings are handmade in the channel inlay technique. It involves a compartmentalized style of silver work whose interstices are set with turquoise, shell or other materials. They are usually hand-cut to fit the spaces exactly, permanently adhered and polished flat. Channel inlay is said to have originated around the 1940's when Zuni jewelers cut and set the stones into the silver framework sometimes done by the Diné, in a collaborative effort. Including hooks, these lovelies grace the face at about 3" long and 1/4" wide. They are of a lightweight in wearability. Signed by the artist.
