A common superstition is the utterance of the phrase “rabbit, rabbit, rabbit” on the first of each month. And while the origin is rather unknown, rabbit have significant ties to folklore from all over the globe and this phrase is meant to bring luck in the coming month. RABBIT (Okshik'o) possess keen hearing and excellent vision, and are quick to react to protect themselves and their communities, so perhaps invoking the animal helps us remember to be more aware of our world and of opportunities that may be presenting themselves to us in the near future. Rabbit reminds us to listen to what our environments may be trying to tell us and to trust our gut instincts to seize any luck that may come our way in the coming month of September.
This rabbit was carved from Picasso marble by Sedrick Banteah and exhibits his beautifully detailed style giving it a fluffy coat, full tail, and claws that are perfect for burrowing. Sedrick's fluffy friend is 1 3/4" long, 3/4" wide, and 1" tall.
