Carved from traditional cottonwood and adorned with lively acrylic paints, a miniature Hopi Sunface Katsina doll is by Adrian Leon. In Hopi ways, a Sunface represents the honored sun because without it life on Earth wouldn't exist. The sun drives the seasons and weather, blessing the pueblo's landscape with cloud cover, falling rain and snow. Other nice details include pipe cleaner, feathers, cloth, embroidery thread and a wooden bead. Including base, measurements are about 2 3/4" tall, 1 1/2" wide and 1 1/4" deep. Signed by the artist.
