Zuni Pueblo women are known for skillful movement while balancing pottery jars or "ollas" on their heads. This is the way water was transported. A wonderful dance group of olla maidens travel far and wide to perform and educate. Angel Yatsayte's traditional olla maiden has been handcarved and incised from cottonwood and lightly painted with acrylics. Crushed turquoise represents water inside the carved jar on her head. Signed by the artist. About 7 1/2" tall, 4" wide and 4" deep.
